Dandruff may also be caused by acute psoriasis or eczema, which are again skin conditions caused by fungi.

Common Treatments:

The sad truth is that people are not aware of the best dandruff treatment and many don’t know if any such safe treatment exists.

Causes of Dandruff:

Let us first look at some more causes of dandruff. It is not just dry skin that is responsible for dandruff. The actual reason is the abundant growth of yeast known as pityrosporum orbiculare. This is a kind of parasitic yeast that feasts on the oils present in the skin. That is why it is common to find people with oily skin having more dandruff than people with dry skin. Another reason is being stressed out due to work or domestic tensions. Hence, it is important to learn to relax and take it easy as stress is known to worsen existing skin conditions.

Another common reason is not maintaining your hair properly. Shampooing your hair regularly is very important. Shampoo helps wash away the excess oil, thus depriving the yeast of the oil that it is known to thrive on. Another surprising yet strong reason is indulging in an unhealthy diet, which again is known to cause dandruff. Avoid diets rich in saturated and trans fats, which cause more oil to be produced on your skin.
